Unlucky, but positive, weekend in Genk for Alex Irlando

AlexINews

Contacts and technical problems ruined Alex Irlando’s weekend in Genk, but it gave him positive vibes for the forthcoming World Championship.

Difficult weekend in Genk for the Sodikart’s Alex Irlando: the reigning KZ2 World Champion took 6th in qualified practices, despite a not perfect lap. In the first heat he couldn’t go over P18 because of a rainfall while he was running on slick tyres, whilst in the second heat he finished in P19 after a huge tangle in the first lap.

Alex’s unlucky streak continued in the two races: in the first one he confirmed the P18, but in the second a technical problem pushed him to retire.

Not a good weekend, but it has been an important one. I tried different solutions and I had a good feeling with the kart, so for me it was a positive test. We went to Genk to test new solutions and it was exactly what we did.

In these days Alex is testing in Le Mans for the 24 hours of Le Mans that will take place on September 30th and then he will go back to Genk for the CIK-FIA KZ World Championship.
