The Winter Cup is the first probative event of the season for the Apulian driver.

One week of rest, a couple of days of leisure on the snow and then immediately on track for the prestigious Winter Cup. This weekend the reigning KZ2 world champion sits again on his TM powered Sodikart and he will face 99 colleagues including some “guests” from formulas who are back in karting for the occasion: Lorandis, Giuliano Alesi, Callum Ilott and Antonio Fuoco.

“The Winter Cup is a race on its own – says Locorotondo’s Irlando ­– and it’s the first race with all opponents that I will face during the season. Paolo De Conto was not in Adria, Anthony Abbasse got stuck in the fight for podium places and Matteo Viganò was involved in a crash that pushed him back on the grid for the final race. Our material is ok, we tested a few times here during the winter. From this race, things get serious!”
